Rayed Barkat completed his B.Sc. from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology in Fashion Design & Technology and M.Sc. from The University of Manchester, UK in International Fashion Retailing (Multi-channel Marketing). He also attained M.Sc. from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) in Fashion Design. He is the recipient of the prestigious ‘Equity & Merit Scholarship” from The University of Manchester, UK.
His personal and professional vision is to teach people in a way that will help us to have a sustainable future. He has been engaged in teaching and research works for the past 6 years. At present he is working as a member of faculty in the Department of Fashion Design in BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). He specializes in sustainability in fashion and fashion business related coursers. He is also acting as Project Coordinator for the project titled ‘Buying II’, a collaborative project between 5 international universities.
Along with that, he has an active participation in the international community regarding sustainability in the fashion industry. He has participated in numerous international collaborative projects, Namely ‘Local- International’ in 2016 which deals with innovation in sustainability in the fashion industry in collaboration with reputed universities such as Berlin University of Arts, Germany and Wisensee Academy of art, Germany. Furthermore, he was a participant in the ‘Copenhagen Fashion Summit’, world’s leading initiative regarding the sustainability in fashion industry in 2017.
He has participated several training on Inclusive business and its potential business opportunities in RMG sector of Bangladesh.
