Engagement of Stakeholders for Responsible and Sustainable Value Chain in Bangladesh Garment Sector

The garment sector is one of the most important pillars of the Bangladesh economy. Over eighty percent of Bangladesh its garment exports are directed to the European Union and Northern America. Export volumes are growing annually, nevertheless the EU market is changing. Recent developments illustrate the need for continuous innovation in the Bangladesh garment industry to keep up pace with new demands for sustainable, circular and responsible produced garments.

BUFT collaborates in an international consortium of Nyenrode Business University, MDF Training & Consultancy, CSR Netherlands, CSR Bangladesh and Mott McDonald on the continuous improvement of the Bangladesh Readymade Garment sector by offering courses on Innovative Leadership, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and SRHR; research on innovative business models in these fields; and by development of a Centre for Innovation & Excellence for training and consultancy to the Bangladesh garment sector.
