Readymade Garments sector is the driving force and lifeline for the economy of Bangladesh. To engage the thriving industry into addressing social and environmental factors, BUFT Centre for CSR & Sustainability (BCCS) has been formed. This Centre of Excellence offers executive training, research and consultancy services in the field of CSR, SRHR, and sustainability to textile and RMG companies in Bangladesh and is a bridge with international brands. It is also intended to promote socio-economic development, environmental protection and innovative leadership in the RMG industry. BUFT Centre for CSR and Sustainability (BCCS) has come into existence through a Netherlands-supported project NICHE-BGD/199 and ultimately through the visionary leadership of Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT and Chief Petron, BCCS. Since the international demand for sustainable, circular and responsibly-produced garments is rising, the establishment of such a Centre is essential. BCCS can play a vital role in assisting buyers to find compliant suppliers which can provide transparency across the whole supply chain from fibre to RMG. The demand for new business models and new techniques creates an opportunity for BCCS to offer consultancy and master classes as well as research findings to its stakeholders across the globe.
